No. this isn't Video-game music.
it's even better.
8-Bit music,Chiptunes is a new way of creating music. It has spawned many new instruments ranging from actual hacked video-game consoles to entire DJ setups. Even though Chiptune music generally sounds electronic, it can be a means of creating a plethora of different musical styles. The only difference between a normal jazz song and a Chiptune jazz song is the quality. Don't misunderstand. The actual musical quality and value is immense, but the fidelity of the tools used is what makes it "Low-Fi". This low fidelity is what makes Chiptune music so great. People become interested because of the nostalgic feelings the sound brings, but stay for for the awesomeness and sheer artistic genius that Chiptune musicians hand out gleefully.

The best part of Chiptune music is that the musicians, whether they're mediocre or mind-blowing, many hand out their music for free! It's everywhere! The first song (my favorite) I got was from Trash80.com, and I downloaded the rest of these tracks from Chipmusic.org.
